Maureen Lewis, Director and CEO of WBSC, is to be on The Ian Henery Show on Black Country Xtra.  Maureen has also been nominated for the Wise Women Awards 2026.  WBSC have been nominated for the Kings Award for Voluntary Service and they recently celebrated a staggering 40 years of social impact.  

 

 

WBSC is a registered Charity and a Charity Incorporated Organisation (CIO) established July 1986. 

Maureen Lewis is the Chief Executive Officer of Walsall Black Sisters Collective, a local charity where she has dedicated over 30 years to the voluntary and community sector. Throughout her career, she has played a pivotal role in developing projects and services that meet the needs of vulnerable and disadvantaged communities across Walsall and the wider West Midlands.      

 

With a strong background in community development, Maureen brings extensive expertise in service design, securing funding, project management, governance and operational leadership. Her strategic insight and commitment to community empowerment have shaped the organisation’s growth and long‑term sustainability.      

 

In 2021, Maureen received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Multicultural Business & Community Champion (MBCC) Awards, recognising her outstanding contribution to the voluntary and community sector. She has since been honoured with several additional awards celebrating her continued impact and leadership.      

 

Beyond her professional achievements, Maureen is a wife, mother of four and grandmother of six. Her passion for people is at the heart of everything she does. She is driven by seeing individuals achieve their goals, overcome barriers and create positive change within their communities.
