Scarlett Mumby from Birmingham, enrolled in the school’s dance, singing and drama classes in 2016.
She has since completed a year-long trainee programme to teach its toddler class, and has assisted with teaching across other age groups.
She has now been promoted to cover a range of roles while a senior colleague goes on maternity leave.
As well as teaching more classes and taking on supervisory duties, she is working as an admin assistant in the office.
Her responsibilities include new student enquiries, bookings, enrolments and customer communications.
The colleague she is covering for also first joined Razzamataz as a six-year-old student, 20 years ago.
Razzamataz Sutton Coldfield trains around 500 young people aged two to 18.
Nick Furlong, joint owner of Razzamataz Sutton Coldfield, said: “We’re incredibly proud of the journeys we nurture here. Scarlett’s is a prime example of the blossoming skills, confidence and potential we see in our young people as they grow through our classes.
“We also prefer to train, grow and recruit from within, especially when it comes to promotions.
“What we look for isn’t the perfect finished product, with all the skills and knowledge; we can teach that. What we can’t train is the passion, the ambition, the care, love and loyalty for the brand and being really invested in what we do. Scarlett has that in abundance.
“These journeys make the time we invest in nurturing and developing talent within the workforce so worthwhile.”
Scarlett said: “When I first joined Razzamataz at eight years old, it was an activity I really enjoyed but had no idea it would develop into what it is today.
“Over the past ten years, I’ve progressed from being a student to an assistant, then into some teaching, and now taking on responsibilities in the office and handling enquiries. Along the way, I’ve developed my confidence, communication and leadership skills, as well as gaining valuable experience working with both students and parents.
“I’m grateful for the opportunities Razzamataz has given me and look forward to continuing to develop my skills and take on new challenges.”
