First visit last week and went again today. This is a wonderful place. Seats are so comfy and spacious. The decor is beautiful. Staff friendly and helpful. Will certainly visit on a regular basis from now on to support this amazing local venue. Will visit one evening or weekend soon so we can have a drink in the upstairs bar.

I was completely blown away by this fabulous cinema. It was absolutely amazing. It was done in a 1920s art deco style. The seats were spacious like armchairs with individual footstools for each seat. It was immaculately clean and tidy. Even better than being at home lounging on my own sofa watching a film. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There is a bar which serves cocktails and other alcoholic drinks should you wish to indulge, or there's the usual soft drinks, popcorn and chocolates. The ticket prices are surprisingly reasonable. This cinema is definitely worth a trip out to, the only downside is that there is limited car parking nearby, but if you are lucky you may get a space just outside.
And apparently on a Wednesday morning, if you are an OAP, you can watch a film there for £5. What a bargain!😄

A visit to the Royal Cinema in Sutton Coldfield is an absolute treat for any film lover. This beautifully restored Art Deco gem offers a movie-going experience that feels both luxurious and welcoming, a world away from the generic multiplex.
The refurbishment has been done to a very high standard, with comfortable seating that includes sofas and armchairs, making it a truly relaxing and stylish place to watch a film. The screens have been upgraded with new sound systems and a variety of seating options, ensuring every seat in the house feels like the best seat. The attention to detail in preserving the building's historical charm while incorporating modern comforts is a credit to the owners.
What truly elevates the experience, however, is the fantastic staff. Their friendly and attentive nature makes every visit a pleasure. From the moment you arrive, you're greeted with a warm welcome and genuine smiles. Whether it's helping you find your way, answering questions about the film, or just taking the time to ask if you enjoyed your movie, the team goes above and beyond to make you feel valued. Their professionalism and enthusiasm are a testament to the cinema's commitment to excellent customer service. The Royal Cinema isn't just a place to watch a film; it's a community hub where you feel genuinely cared for, and the staff are at the heart of that.

We have been visiting the Royal Cinema again since it reopened and I have to say my family and I thoroughly enjoy our experiences, including: super plush seating, great large screens and a good range of treats to enjoy and a well stocked bar.

My Husband and I came along on Friday to watch ‘Downton Abbey - The Grand Finale’

It was superb! and the staff were friendly and helpful as usual.

Thanks so much!

Amazing staff and really comfortable experience especially as I had a 12 hour marathon day ! However my nacho cheese sauce was clumpy and freezing cold and the salsa was not the best . Apart from that great experience definitely come again (:

The last time we came to this cinema was before the revamp. At that time it was bordering on being rightly called a “flea pit”. A huge shame. I’ve been coming to this cinema for almost 60 years. First as a small child with my younger brother and our Mom for all the Disney classics. Then later in my youth and then as an adult with a family of my own. Now I get a concession priced ticket.
The “new” version of the old Odeon is fabulous. Loving the sofa arrangements, really comfortable. We were in screen 2 for the latest Jurassic Park film. There was only us in the room. Which is exactly how I like it these days. But I hope that’s just because it was a Sunday morning showing and not a regular occurrence here. Or we’ll loose the place again. I’d imagine a busy night time show would be tricky for people to park if arriving by car. There are some spaces out front. And this morning we had no trouble. Selling the old carpark might have saved the cinema. But could also be its downfall.
I’d be very happy to go back again when the next must see film comes along. Today was a very enjoyable experience. The coffee from the foyer was very nice too.
