I genuinely love going to Royal Cinema. It’s a brilliant local cinema — clean, comfortable, friendly staff, and just an all-round great atmosphere. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel good about supporting your local, and 9 times out of 10, it’s a perfect night out.
But… we need to talk about the nachos.
More specifically — the complete and utter absence of hot cheese.
Now, I don’t think I’m being dramatic when I say this is a serious issue. Nachos without hot cheese? That’s just dry triangles of regret. It’s like going to the cinema and the film’s missing the ending. Or popcorn with no butter. It’s not right.
It’s honestly got to the point where I’m considering making the journey to The Light Cinema instead — which is completely out of my way. I don’t want to do that. I shouldn’t have to do that. But if that’s what it takes to get proper nachos… then that’s what I’ve gotta do.
Please, Royal Cinema — sort the cheese situation out. You’re so close to being perfect. Don’t let nachos be your downfall.

Excellent Customer Service from manager and a member of the team ,I mistakenly booked the wrong date to take my grandson to see the new Mario Karts movie, extremely kind and refunded me and Oliver was able to see Mario Karts movie today ,thank you 😀

Always a pleasure to visit this beautiful cinema, the staff are super lovely and always willing to help, prices are decent, it's clean, comfy and the bar is cute too, love the whole Art deco theme it has through out, would definitely recommend a visit.

Excellent local cinema with loads of charm and character.
Prices are very reasonable compared to other cinemas, and the seats are very comfortable. We really love that you can order fresh hot pizza to your seat too.
Parking is a bit of an issue, but otherwise well worth a visit over other chains.

The staff here were amazing I made a error booking and they helped us out so my son wouldn't miss the film which was so lovely of them all and I really appreciate it❤️The staff are polite friendly and very helpful! The cinema itself is very nice cosy and clean and loved the snacks! Thank you all for today 🥰🍿❤️

We took our granddaughter to cinema today. I booked on line early this morning & got a bit confused as I was unable to purchase 3 seats even when there was one sofa & 2 chairs together but had to book all 4 seats. I later e- mailed as I realised I might as well have chosen better situated seats by booking 2 sofas. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a prompt response and change of seating as requested. The cinema was extremely crowded being half term but staff were coping very well with pleasant smiles & greetings. When I came back to foyer just before film due to start to get refreshments, tea etc., I was accidentally knocked by another customer just as I was leaving the counter with drinks. I was immediately approached by a member of staff who helped me carry my drinks to our seats. Altogether a very good experience and staff amazing despite an extremely busy day. Well done all.

The cinema has been recently restored to its original art deco splendour. Good variety of films and theatre screenings. The bar is lovely and there is a good selection of drinks and snacks. Staff are all wonderful.
