It was a triumphant evening for Lanyon Bowdler at recent LFS Conveyancing Awards as Emma Alsop, a lawyer in the firm’s residential property department picked up the national Young Conveyancer of the Year Award.

One of 28 entries for this category, the judges decided against short listing finalists stating instead there was one outstanding candidate.

Those attending the event with Emma were delighted when the host, television presenter and economist, Justin Urquhart Stewart announced her as the winner in the Young Conveyancer category.

Partner and head of the residential property department Emma Wilde said “This is tremendous. I am delighted for Emma. She stepped up to the challenge of leading the team at our Shrewsbury office and has demonstrated excellent commitment.

"She has worked hard building connections and developing relationships in the local area. She is a worthy winner!”

Emma joined Lanyon Bowdler’s residential property team at their Telford office in December 2009 and was transferred to lead the team based at the firm’s Shrewsbury offices at Abbey Lawn in February 2011.

She manages property transactions for local clients, which include high value and complex matters. Emma has played a key role in the development of the department’s case management system, which is pivotal for ensuring all transactions proceed smoothly.

Earlier this year Emma delivered a presentation to five members of a Bangladesh Government team on the benefits of case management systems, in conjunction with the University of Wolverhampton and the Land Registry.

Law Firm Services Ltd (LFS) provides world class software solutions to the UK property industry, helping estate agents and law firms work more closely together.

Emma receives a magnificent trophy as well as two tickets for a West End Show and hotel accommodation in London for the night.

Over 200 guests attended the awards dinner, which took place at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. LFS has identified that recruiting and training the best conveyancers is ever more important and introduced the award with the aim of encouraging new entrants by rewarding those who understand not just how to be good technically but how to provide a customer focused service using all the aids of modern technology.
