We've just got back from a much-needed holiday in Majorca. Arranged through Leighann Kirby of Shrewsbury based Travel Counsellors, my family had a lovely week off to recharge the batteries.
It's great to be back though. OK, it be mid July and raining but there's lots going on in Shrewsbury at the moment. The summer season is underway, so check out our Events page for a list of great things to see and do.
If you're organising an event yourself and it's not on thebestof Shrewsbury website, then add it! It costs nothing except a little bit of your time and will get you lots of publicity as the Events page is the 3rd-highest viewed page on the site. Ask me and I'll even facebook and tweet it for you. Because I'm nice like that.
We're particularly interested in publicizing fetes, festivals and car boot sales in the Shrewsbury area.
Our first magazine, In The Know, is well and truly "out there". We went with a high distribution; it's not going to reach every single person in Shrewsbury of course but with 10,000 copies delivered to homes and available in a number of town centre businesses plus a brand new page flipper to read Issue 1 online, it's gaining great momentum. In The Know has received lots of positive feedback, which bodes well for Issue 2 (October - December).
So here's to a fantastic few weeks ahead in Shrewsbury. Forget the grey clouds and the need for woolly jumpers. Let's enjoy what's on our doorstep this summer.
