It’s scorching out there and while we might enjoy soaking up the sun, our dogs certainly don’t! Heatstroke is a real and dangerous risk, walking your dog in this heat could be life-threatening.

Instead of risking heat exhaustion on a walk, why not try some fun enrichment activities in the shade?

💦 For Water-Loving Dogs:

✅ Sprinkler play
✅ Paddling pool fun - supervised splashing sessions
✅ Frozen treats - blend dog-safe ingredients and freeze for a cooling snack
✅ DIY ice cubes with toys inside- let them bat, chew, and discover hidden treasures

🍖 For Food-Motivated Dogs:

✅ Scatter feeding - turn mealtime into a rewarding treasure hunt
✅ Hide and seek with treats - engage their sense of smell while keeping them cool
✅ Lick mats - spread something tasty like yoghurt or peanut butter (dog-safe, of course!)
✅ Frozen Kongs - stuffed and chilled for hours of entertainment

🚨 Know the Signs & Act Fast!🚨

If you suspect your dog is suffering from heatstroke, **immediate cold water immersion (CWI)** is the most effective way to cool them down. Soak them with cold water, keeping their airway clear, and get them to your vet straightaway.

Let’s spread the word and keep our dogs safe this summer! 🐕❤️
