Theatre Severn Unveils the Cast for This Year’s Pantomime – Dick Whittington and His Cat

Shrewsbury is set for another festive treat as Theatre Severn lifts the curtain on the cast of its eagerly awaited Christmas pantomime, Dick Whittington and His Cat. Packed with dazzling dance numbers, singalong tunes, and laugh-out-loud moments, this year’s show promises to be another unmissable production for families across Shropshire.

Excitement is already running high, with nearly 70% of tickets sold – an impressive milestone reached two months before opening night on Friday 28 November 2025.

The pantomime has been written by Paul Hendy, who hails from Telford, and is brought to the stage by Evolution Productions, the creative team that has delighted Theatre Severn audiences since 2011. Local panto favourite Brad Fitt returns for his 14th season, once again taking on double duty as both director and the much-loved Dame Dolly.

Comedy performer Tommy J Rollason (ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent) is back for his fourth year, playing the role of Billy, while Tim Whitnall (BAFTA and Olivier Award winner) will bring plenty of villainy as King Rat. The cast is completed by Ollie Wray (Les Misérables, West End) as Dick Whittington, Cara Dudgeon as Fairy Bowbells, and Lottie Stone as Alice Fitzwarren.

David Jack, Theatre Services Manager, said:

“After last year’s record-breaking run with Sleeping Beauty, we can’t wait to share another magical panto season. Working with Brad Fitt and the incredible Evolution team for a 14th year means audiences can expect our biggest and brightest show yet. With over 27,000 tickets already booked, we strongly recommend securing seats early!”

Councillor Alex Wagner, Deputy Leader of the Council and Portfolio Holder for Communities, added:

“Pantomime is a tradition that Shropshire audiences cherish, and Theatre Severn has become a true home for this festive celebration. With so many tickets sold already, it’s clear this year’s Dick Whittington will be another smash hit. We look forward to welcoming everyone for a fantastic season.”

Dick Whittington and His Cat runs at Theatre Severn from Friday 28 November 2025 until Sunday 4 January 2026.
