Organisers of this year’s Shrewsbury International Street Theatre Festival (SISTF) are looking for a vehicle to be ‘painted’ by the festival’s commissioned graffiti artist.

The request goes out based on last year's success when Mark Preece, director at graphic design agency Wildfire Creative, had his camper van covered in graffiti art during the three day event.

Festival director Bill Ferguson said: “Our resident graffiti artist attracted a lot of attention at last year’s festival and carried out such a fantastic job on Mark’s camper van that when he came to sell it the buyer travelled from Ibiza and it can now be seen cruising through the sun filled streets of San Antonio. Graffiti, a performance in its own right, is now an important form of art and renowned street artists like Banksy, for example, have raised its profile as an acceptable, if not still slightly controversial, but ultimately exciting and expressive medium. It would be great if someone could provide a similar vehicle to last year which, of course, must be in a roadworthy condition!”

Any Shrewsbury residents wishing to offer a vehicle can contact Neville Street at Stella Six PR on 01743 246917 or Bill Ferguson on 07963 857594.

More information about SISTF is available on the web at www.shrewsburystreetfest.co.uk and their Facebook site – Shrewsbury International Street Theatre Festival.
