A Shropshire vehicle valeting firm had a sparkling surprise when it arrived at a new customer’s home.
Mango Valeting of Shrewsbury discovered that it had been booked to clean the car of one of Britain’s favourite actresses, Fay Ripley.
Fay, who shot to fame in hit 1990s Manchester series Cold Feet, booked Mango as the mobile valeting business was recommended by a friend.
Mango Valeting boss Jason Heath said it was a shock when Fay met him and his colleague at the door of her north London home.
“We could not believe it – she was so lovely and extremely pleased with the work we did, in fact she said it was ‘incredible’!” he said.
“Her 4x4 was a little grubby inside and out because she has two young children and a dog but we managed to leave it sparkling.
“We have just re-branded our company and taken on more staff and launched a new website so it is an exciting time for us and fabulous to have a star as one of our first new customers.”
Mango Valeting has recently made a major investment in an additional mobile valeting vehicle with its own electricity and water supply, as well as awning, so it can carry out cleaning work at any location and in any weather.
Fay, who most recently starred in the BBC remake of Reggie Perrin and is seen in the National Lottery advertisements, was so grateful that she recorded a video testimonial for the Mango Valeting website.
In it she says she called Mango Valeting because her car was filthy but she was shocked at the transformation after it was cleaned inside and out.
“I am genuinely gobsmacked. My car literally looks like new, even all the little scratches have disappeared from the paintwork. Mango have done an incredible job,” she commented.
