Skincare revolution in Shropshire

Shropshire is enjoying a skincare revolution thanks to one local businesswoman, and she recently celebrated the official launch of the botanical range at the Prostar Stadium, home of Shrewsbury Town Football Club.

Chamber Member Karyl Iles is an Independent Consultant with US brand Arbonne, and is one of the first to bring the Swiss-formulated products to Shropshire. “I came across Arbonne by chance as the company has only just been introduced in the UK and was really impressed by how effective the products were,” explained Karyl. “The range is good enough to eat – although they do work better if you apply them to your skin!”

Completely botanically-based, the Arbonne range is pH-correct, hypoallergenic and dermatologist-tested. “It also contains no mineral oil, is certified vegan, and has never been tested on animals which was important to me personally, and also as a mum buying products for my son” added Karyl.

It’s this wholly natural approach which has made the range a best-seller in the US with it being the ‘product of choice’ for many celebrities. “I loved that the range had such a strong following and particularly that US dermatologists like Dr Oscar Hevia and cosmetic surgeons like Dr Tina Peers are both fans,” explained Karyl.

“But when I realised that the company had invested in a research and development institute in Switzerland,  which was dedicated to developing ever more exciting and innovative natural products, I became really interested. The work there is overseen by Pierre Bottiglieri – the President of the Swiss Society of Cosmetic Chemists – and Dr Peter Matravers, who is best known for his work with Aveda, part of the Estee Lauder Group.”

The celebration at Shrewsbury Town Football Club was attended by Iain Pritchard, Executive Regional Vice President of Arbonne UK. Iain spoke to invited guests about the Arbonne products and invited them to join the network of consultants working with Karyl and her husband Chris across the Shropshire region. “Arbonne products are available through network marketing,” he explained, “which means that consultants can personally introduce them to their friends and family and also allow the products to speak for themselves through our try-before-you-buy scheme.

“Not only does distribution this way mean that we can avoid all of the artificial preservatives we’d need to add for products to stay on shelves in the high street, but it also gives a flexible business opportunity to people in the county.”

Arbonne was founded in 1980 by Norwegian Petter Morck, and is the premier leader in natural skin care. A household name in the USA, the brand is launching into the UK and Australia, with further European expansion planned in the near future.  Arbonne products are FSC certified and free from mineral oil, PABA and animal derivatives.
