Dare-devil displays of airborne motorcycle acrobatics, music, competitive livestock classes and colourful entertainment zones for young visitors are some of the highlights expected to attract thousands of people to this year’s Shropshire County Show.

A key event in the Shropshire calendar, the show will offer a jam-packed day of entertainment for all ages at the Greenhous West Mid Showground in Berwick Road, Shrewsbury, on Saturday 25 May 2019.

As an extra bonus this year, children aged under 16 are free - while, as in previous years, most of the activities are free once visitors enter the gates.

Spectacular shows in the main arena include the Bolddog Lings Motorcycle Display Team performing jaw-dropping stunts and tricks, breathtaking birds of prey displays by Ridgeside Falconry and the majestic sounds of the Wirral Pipe Band.

Visitors can get up close to vehicles of all shapes and sizes, from admiring the tractors and vintage steam rollers to experiencing an exhilarating ride in a monster truck with Wicked Adventures.

Animal-lovers will be in their element with the livestock and horse competitive classes, as well as the horse, dog and poultry shows, while those who like to shop can explore the trade stands before heading to the food and craft marquees.

Children, both young and older, will also be spoilt for choice with entertainment including Simon Airey the Animal Man, Juggling Jim, Little Lamb Tales storytelling, laser tag and the canoe and kayak experience.

Neale Sadler, Show Chairman, said: “We’re working hard to ensure this year’s Shropshire County Show is the best ever, with a packed programme lined up for the day.

“Each year thousands of people join us, and we’re looking forward to again celebrating how the rural community is vital to our lives, showcasing what Shropshire has to offer and just offering a fantastic day at the Greenhous West Mid Showground.

“Whether you enjoy the thrills and spills of the main arena shows, seeing all the wonderful vehicles and animals, perusing the stands, or making the most of the kids activities, there’s sure to be something up your street. Plus there’s more to be announced, so please keep an eye out. It looks set to be an unforgettable year.”

Advance tickets are now on sale and people who buy ahead of the show get a cheaper deal than those buying tickets on the day.
