DEEDSAFE’S UNIQUE CHARITY WILLWRITING SCHEME
Deedsafe recognises that although legacies provide a large amount of much needed revenue for charities, these can also be over a longer term.
Mr Savage, added: "Obviously when a person has a Will drawn up leaving a legacy to a charity, that charity has to wait possibly many years before they receive that gift.
"Therefore, here at Deedsafe, we have devised a scheme whereby a charity can have an income today as well as receiving the legacy in the future. If a charity promotes us to their supporters and they in turn have a Will drawn by us.
"Deedsafe donates 20per cent of the cost of each Will we write for a contributor to that charity. Furthermore, to reassure the contributor that the charity will receive this 20per cent we ask the contributor to write two separate cheques for our work. One of those cheques will equate to the 20per cent of the cost of the Will and made payable to the charity."
"Our usual cost for a Standard Will is £140 per person, therefore a charity will receive £28 for each Will we draw up for their contributors. Of course when taking instructions for the Wills we will encourage the contributor to leave a gift in their Wills to the charity in question."
