One of Shropshire’s longest-established legal firms has announced expansion plans.
Wace Morgan Solicitors, based in Shrewsbury, has acquired Welsh practice Tomleys, based in Newtown, Powys.
The move, which has just been completed, is designed to widen Wace Morgan’s geographical area of operation.
“It is a positive development for our firm and for the team at Tomleys,” said Wace Morgan's managing partner, Diana Packwood.
“We hope that the expansion will enable us to offer our specialist legal services to a wider area of mid Wales.
“Both practices have much in common, being renowned for their professional, personal and high quality work so we feel it will be a highly successful merger which will benefit clients. This is an exciting time for us all,” she added.
Tomleys, which was established over 200 years ago, will now be known as Wace Morgan Tomleys and will retain all its current staff at its Market Street office.
Principal, Chris Tomley, said: “This acquisition is excellent news for not only my clients, but my staff and Newtown. The service we offer will be more comprehensive with the new resources provided by Wace Morgan’s specialist staff. It is a good day for the Town.
"I am very pleased that Wace Morgan Tomleys will continue to provide the high quality, professional service and maintain the integrity of this practice as a traditional High Street practice, protecting the interests of our clients, as my two Grandfathers, Father and I have done for three generations.”
