The specialist team at Wace Morgan Solicitors, which has offices in Shrewsbury and Newtown, has been dealing with claims for ‘continuing healthcare funding’ since 1999 and is keen to raise awareness of the issue.
Lawyer Nicola Hawes explained: “Many people should have been receiving free NHS funding of their long term care, whether at home or in a care home, and we estimate that we have saved clients millions of pounds by successfully challenging NHS rulings.
“The deadline for reviews is July 31 this year so people need to take advice now.
“Many people paying for their care in Wales have not been assessed by the NHS for the period from April 1 2003 to July 31 2013. If they had been, some would have been found eligible for free care.
“If they take legal advice now this could result in them re-claiming many thousands of pounds,” she stressed.
