Severnvale English language school for foreign students in Shrewsbury has launched a membership card for full time students offering them discounts through local retailers. on Claremont Hill, Shrewsbury.

The school on Claremont Hill welcomes around 400 students (average age 38) each year, and collectively they spend more than £300,000 in the local area.

The school has recently launched a membership card for the full time students, offering them exclusive discounts with a selected group of local retailers.

Severnvale's Stephen Giles said: "Our students buy food, drink, gifts, clothes, sports equipment, souvenirs, wine and flowers among other things. We give each new student a photo ID card which they must produce to claim their discount.

"We also give them a printed list with details of all our preferred retailers. We’re keen to recruit new retailers to the scheme – if you are a Shrewsbury business owner, your commitment is simple, just decide on the level of discount you can offer our students, contact us and we’ll add you to our list – that’s it, no financial obligation, no fees.

"Our aim is to offer our students the best of Shrewsbury and a great deal into the bargain."
