Shropshire’s largest independent furniture store will be taking part in its first wedding fair this autumn to showcase its cookshop and homeware departments.

Staff at Alan Ward, which is based in Shrewsbury, will also be telling brides and grooms-to-be about the store’s wedding gift service.

The event will take place on October 1 at the Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery.

Main stockists in Shropshire

Alan Ward are main stockists in Shropshire for top brands, including  Joseph Joseph, Villeroy & Boch, Le Creuset, Brabantia, Nespresso, Denby, Portmeirion, Dartington Crystal, Stellar, Morphy Richards and Russell Hobbs.

“Our cookshop department opened last year with everything to create a stylish and modern kitchen and dining area,” said Elaine Ray, commercial director at the Alan Ward store in Ennerdale Road.

We can’t wait

“We can’t wait to show brides and grooms just what we have available. We stock the latest must-have kitchen accessories such as Nespresso coffee makers and we’re the ideal place to shop for wedding presents through our gift service.”

During the wedding fair, which runs from 5.30pm to 9 pm, couples will be given a taste of the store’s wedding gift service, which offers a personal touch to their special day.

Luxury pieces

“It gives couples the chance to choose luxury pieces that will be in their home for years - and a constant reminder of their wedding day,” said Miss Ray.

“We’ll also have some special offers and vouchers available at the wedding fair.

“We know that planning a wedding is an exciting but nerve-wracking event and our wedding list service will really take a weight off any bride and groom’s shoulders.”

Miss Ray said Alan Ward staff at the wedding fair will explain the service, which is free and easy to set up.

Our wedding list is at Alan Ward

“We provide ‘our wedding list is at Alan Ward’ cards to put inside the invitations to make life as easy as possible for the bride and groom.

“We will also give couples a gift from the store to celebrate their wedding with a voucher worth 10 per cent of the total value of all the wedding gifts.”

Miss Ray said Alan Ward is thrilled to be taking part in its first wedding fair.

Proud of changes

She said: “We hope this will be the first of many. We are very proud of the changes we have made to our cookshop and home departments and look forward to meeting lots of brides and grooms to discuss their happy day.”
