Alan Ward of Shrewsbury has supplied the carpeting for the centrepiece of the 2012 Diamond Jubilee celebrations at Cosford.
The company, Shropshire's largest independent retailer, supplied 85 square metres of twistpile carpet which is enough to carpet an average three bedroom house.
The carpet was supplied in five large pieces, each in a different colour, which will be cut into smaller pieces and put together to form a Diamond shape floor covering to go underneath the Crown shaped floral centrepiece.
The colours range from pink, red, white, beige and purple and were specially chosen to complement the centrepiee colour scheme.
“We received a plea by one of the event organisers and were delighted to be able to help out for such a special event as the Jubilee celebrations in Cosford”, said Marc Beckett, manager of the flooring department within the Alan Ward showroom at Ennerdale Road, Harlescott, Shrewsbury.
“Time was of the essence in this case and luckily we were able to get the carpet within three days which allowed time for the pieces to be cut up and bound together to form the Diamond motif.”
