Bluebird Care, based in Shrewsbury, is expanding its care at home services once again with the introduction of Children’s Services.

The company, is based in Shrewsbury, and covers Much Wenlock, Church Stretton, Oswestry and the areas in between and has recently expanded into Whitchurch and Market Drayton.

Quality at home care

It provides a quality at home care service to allow people to stay living in their own homes without having to go into hospital, care or nursing homes.

The company already specialises in providing services for people with Dementia, Medication Management, Diabetes, Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Palliative Care, infection control, adult protection, and now children (up to the age of 18) that need help in their home.

Spearheaded expansion

Care Manager Claire Flavell has spearheaded the company’s expansion into Children's Services.

She has spent time with the Children's Disabled Services at Shropshire Council and has since been ensuring that Bluebird carers are given the specialist necessary training they need to be able to work in this field. As well as extra training, these care staff have all been DBS checked and have had Safeguarding training.

Director of Bluebird Care Shropshire, Ian Barnes, said: “We care passionately about delivering a high standard of Home Care to all our patients – whatever their age or individual needs are. Dignity, Respect and Independence are important words to us. We employ professional people and train them well.

“We have decided to expand into Children’s Services because we feel that children need to feel independent and well cared for and avoid the need for hospital stays just as much as adults.

Individual care plans

"Plus, caring for a child with any type of special needs at homes can put a lot of strain on family members and the care we are able to provide could give them a much needed break – even if it’s just for a few hours. We always come up with individual care plans for every person we look after to make sure the care we provide is just right for the,.

“Our dedicated team of staff is growing and undertake specialist training all the time to improve their skills.”
