An award winning Shrewsbury caravan dealership is aiming to remain a leader in the industry by investing in the health and fitness of its staff.
Salop Leisure, based at Emstrey, paid for its middle management team to go on a team building and fitness day with Ultimate Fitness Experience in the Shropshire Hills at Marshbrook, near Church Stretton.
The managers tackled a range of exciting adventure activities, which catered for every level of fitness.
Simon Macdonald, one of Ultimate’s personal fitness trainers, followed up the exercise by visiting the company’s headquarters to provide free fitness tests and advice on nutrition and exercise for all staff.
As a result managing director Mark Bebb is now arranging a free after work class for an hour every week for those staff who wish to improve their fitness. The company has also launched a project to help members of staff to give up smoking.
"Because we are a small, family focused business we genuinely care about the health and wellbeing of our employees,” said Mr Bebb. “There are massive personal benefits associated with fitness and good health.
“We are employing Simon to help measure staff fitness and to give advice where necessary on exercise programmes and nutrition.
“The test and after work fitness class are entirely optional, but we hope staff will take advantage of these opportunities. Improved fitness has been shown to improve concentration levels and productivity, as well as making individuals feel better about themselves.”
