We've been seeing a lot of Business to Business companies joining thebestof Shrewsbury recently, from IT Trainers to Management Consultants. Fantastic stuff it you're a local business owner but perhaps of lesser interest if you're a member of the public.
So recently we made a bit of a Business to Consumer effort and I'm delighted to welcome onboard two most excellent tradespeople. (I know thebestof Shrewsbury directory says 'Tradesmen' but they won't change it. I happen to know some top lady plumbers and decorators.)
Rogue tradespeople are always a nightmare so we always meet prospective business Members first. No, you'll never be able to please everyone (take my mum, for example - if a tradesperson can do a job at her house and receive 10/10 then I'm a blancmange) but meeting someone in person gives you a good inkling. Like when I went to first see Lewis Hampson of LRE Hampson Builders. A big smile, a ton of references, a pristine family home - all very positive signs! If a builder were to greet me with a fag in his mouth and usher me into a house that was falling down, I think it's fair to say I'd have my concerns.
The 2nd business that has just come onboard is Shades Effects Ltd. Director Alan Peach is already a well-known Painter and Decorator in Shrewsbury and he has the same rep as Lewis - cheerful, reliable and professional. From stately homes to bungalows, Alan's team decorates them all.
If there are any business types that you think we're still missing, please let us know. I'll never be able to please everyone either but I do try...!
