A unique job opportunity has become available to help Shrewsbury and Atcham MP Daniel Kawczynski fight for the rights of his constituents.
Daniel is recruiting for a full-time Caseworker to work in his constituency office on Benbow Business Park. The role will involve providing advice and support to help local residents deal with a wide variety of local and national enquiries, with the successful candidate expected to form close links with a number of government agencies, the voluntary sector, and other local organisations.
“Pursuing individual casework on behalf of my local constituents is one of the most important roles I undertake as a Member of Parliament,” Daniel explained.
“The role I am recruiting for will help to tackle some of the key concerns for Shrewsbury residents as and when they arise, and the successful applicant will get to play a vital – and thoroughly rewarding – part in providing advice and support to constituents across a diverse range of day-to-day issues.”
Interested applicants must possess excellent organisational and IT skills, be able to deal with daily queries from members of the public by phone or in person, keep accurate records, and undertake general administrative tasks.
The successful candidate will also be expected to manage their own caseloads, and be able take the appropriate initial action required to resolve constituent enquiries.
Salary will be based in-line with the standard pay scale of the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA), along with relevant experience.
Anyone interested in applying for the role should submit a CV and covering letter outlining their suitability for the post to SHEPPEYH@parliament.uk by the closing date of July 20. A number of candidates will be shortlisted for interview stage in late July or early August, with a view to formally starting the job in August.
