Halloween and Bonfire Night in Shrewsbury

The party harty season is almost upon us. Halloween then Bonfire Night are great but they also signal the build-up to Christmas. The recession is fading (apparently), England are in the World Cup (definitely) and people seem to be looking forward to the good times once more.

If you're wondering what to do this Halloween and Bonfire Night in Shrewsbury, check out our Events page. The big ones look set to be Attingham Park for Halloween and West Mid Showground for Bonfire Night. Or if you know of some other good ones, you can list them yourselves for free.

Bar a bit of unfunny wordplay such as "spook-tacular" (guilty) and a young oik banging on your door demanding sweets for wearing a set of Dracula teeth, Halloween is a fun, peaceful event. Not really sure what it's celebrating to be honest - something pagan and offensive probably - but who needs an excuse to party? I think Shrewsbury's deserved it. From independent businesses struggling to getting knocked out of the play-offs again, recent times ain't been easy.

We all know what Bonfire Night is about of course. Erm, well, some beardy bloke trying to blow up Parliament. I forget why but I bet he had his reasons. Dogs may not like fireworks but everyone else does. Time to put on your woolly hat, munch on a burger and watch dad swear as he tries to light the bonfire....

I think thebestof Shrewsbury has quite a few party type businesses. From fancy dress hire to limos. But if we're missing something, please do let us know and recommend someone in Shrewsbury you've used yourself.
