Shrewsbury based dance school Elite Dance Studios is now offering teaching exams for students aged over 16, as well as looking for dancers aged 8+ to help them support the British Red Cross at a charity event.
If you are looking to get a teaching qualification in Dance in Shrewsbury, successful completition of the exams with Elite Dance Studios will also give you a student teacher certificate that allows you to teach under supervision... in turn leading to a full teaching certificate where you can teach a specialist dance style. As optional extras, those taking part are also able to undertake first aid training and child protection training and CRB checks – essential for when working with young people.
Until February 1st 2012, the course is on offer for £250, rising to its usual price of £300 after that time. The cost covers the student teacher certificate, specialist style exam and ten weeks of lessons.
In addition to the teaching qualification, Natalie Prudence, principal and artistic director, is also looking for dancers aged eight and over to help support a charity dance event.
She said: “We have been invited to audition for a show being organised by the British Red Cross and hopefully perform at a national event they are running.
“To help us achieve this, I need dancers aged eight and over. Places at our classes are limited. The price of the course is £50 a term for lessons, with the auditions being in June. The show will incorporate all different dance styles and reflect the work the British Red Cross do.
“I am looking for young people to take part in weekly lessons each Thursday during term time so we can get ready for the audition. We have taken part in national events before but we are really excited to be supporting this charity event.”
Elite Dance Studios teaches children aged two and up as well as adults at the Shrewsbury Sports Village.
Adult dance fitness lessons are available on Mondays from 3.45pm to 5pm at £6 or £55 for a 10 week block. Lessons cover a range of dance fitness styles from Salsa to Aerobics to Jazz.
