Festive performances at Shrewsbury Market Hall

A whole host of festive entertainment is in store for shoppers at the award-winning Market Hall in Shrewsbury this Christmas.

On Friday [DEC 7] children from Wilfred Owen Primary School Choir will be performing a mix of Christmas favourites old and new at the venue from 2pm.

Then on Saturday [DEC 8] mixed-voice choir Of One Accord will be stopping off at the market as part of their Christmas season of concerts from 1pm.

The festive programme continues on December 15 when the Phoenix Singers, who specialise in baroque and modern styles, perform from 10.30am until 11.30am.

Following the Phoenix Singers will be the Mere Singers, performing a mix of acapella music, from 12-1pm.

On December 19 Jigsaw Sound choir will be joining the market traders for some festive fun, performing a combination of old and new favourites and unusual Christmas carols and songs.

Bringing the Market Hall’s Christmas programme to a close will be Shrewsbury Samaritans, who will be performing on December 22.

Kate Gittins, site facilities manager at the market said: “We are delighted to be welcoming some of Shropshire’s best choirs and vocal harmony groups to help us get into the festive spirit at the Market Hall this Christmas.”
