The fantastic Indian Summer weather is expected to boost attendance at a major autumn show, which opens in Shrewsbury today to launch the 2012 touring caravan, motorhome, luxury lodge and caravan holiday home models.

The West Midlands Caravan and Motorhome Show, which has the theme ‘Sexy New Models’, is being staged at Salop Leisure’s headquarters, alongside Shrewsbury bypass at Emstrey, from September 30 to October 9. Around 15,000 are expected to attend.

More than 50 new caravan holiday homes will be on display together with in excess of 200 new and pre-owned touring caravans and motorhomes. Savings of up to £2,000 will be offered on selected 2011 models.

The show, which is designed to give customers a preview of the new models set to be launched next year, will also include an extended accessory superstore with price reductions on more than 100 lines.

For the first time, the show will feature an angling shop, provided by Total Angling in association with Preston Innovations. Other exhibits will include hot tubs, jetskis and Land Rover models.

Twenty-five of the top caravan holiday home parks in the Heart of England, Mid Wales and along the Cambrian Coast will also be represented at the show, which aims to be a one-stop-shop for anyone wishing to buy a caravan or motorhome.

Parking and admission to the show are free and tickets are available to download at caravanevent.co.uk.

“It’s a very exciting time for the business as we can’t wait to show our customers the fantastic new models for 2012,” said Salop Leisure’s marketing manager Scott Higgins. “The fantastic weather is likely to attract even more people than usual to the show as they make their way to Mid Wales from the West Midlands this weekend.

“We firmly believe that demand for caravans and motorhomes is going to increase over the next decade, as more people opt to holiday in Britain instead of travelling abroad.”
