Daniel Kawczynski, Member of Parliament for Shrewsbury and Atcham, is to visit Royal Shrewsbury Hospital’s new Centre of Excellence for HealthcareEducation.  The centre, which was formally opened in May, is the result of investment from Staffordshire University who have undertaken a £1m transformation of its Royal Shrewsbury Hospital site.

Daniel Kawczynski said:

“I am pleased that Staffordshire University have chosen RSH as a site for their Centre of Excellence for Healthcare Education; the investment has transformed the existing teaching site in to an innovative and interactive learning environment for students.”

Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Dr Nigel Thomas said:

“Staffordshire University is already a leading provider of courses for health professionals and we are confident that this investment in the RSH site will translate into the provision of high quality learning to support patient care in future.”

“While we're keen to show off our upgraded clinical skills labs with new learning technologies and transformed teaching areas, the focus is very much on the skills and professionalism of our students – the nurses, midwives and paramedics and operating department practitioners of the future.”
