The Hive is getting into the festive spirit this December, inviting families, friends, and the wider community to enjoy a programme of Christmas crafts, from traditional wreath making to affordable, hands-on activities for all ages.
The Shrewsbury arts and wellbeing charity will be opening its doors for some festive creativity, with opportunities to make something special, spend time together, and enjoy a little Christmas cheer.
Christmas Crafts – Saturday 12 December
There will be a flourish of festive fun Santa's Elves take over The Hive for a series of Christmas craft sessions!
Families, children, young people, and adults are invited to roll up their sleeves and make their own Christmas decorations and keepsakes, with activities to suit different ages and budgets.
Sessions will run from 10am to 12pm and 1pm to 3pm, with three activities to choose from:
Make your own Christmas garland – £3
Decorate a festive bauble – £5
Decorate a Christmas Eve plate – £8
For those who can't choose, all three activities are available for £15 per person, plus a small booking fee.
With plenty of festive inspiration and a little help from Santa's Elves, it's a chance to enjoy some creative time together and take home something made with your own hands.
Katie Jennings, CEO of The Hive, said:
"Christmas is such a lovely time to get creative and spend time together, and we wanted to offer something at The Hive that everyone can enjoy without it costing a fortune. Whether you're making decorations with the children or spending time with friends at our wreath-making workshop, it's about sharing experiences, making something special, and enjoying a little festive cheer. We're really looking forward to welcoming everyone to The Hive this Christmas!"
Adults can get into the festive spirit too with a cosy Christmas Wreath Making Workshop in The Hive's gallery, led by a local artist.
Using fresh seasonal greenery and a selection of decorations, participants will create their own unique Christmas wreath to take home. Whether you're a complete beginner or enjoy getting creative, all materials and guidance will be provided.
There will also be festive music, refreshments, and traditional stollen to enjoy, making it a lovely opportunity to spend a little time with friends or simply enjoy a relaxing afternoon of creativity.
Tickets cost £40 per person, including all materials, a festive refreshment, and stollen. Tickets are selling fast, so book now or miss out.
Booking for all Christmas activities closes on Friday 4th December.
