Choosing The Ideal Hot Tub Gazebo or Shelter

When you purchase a hot tub, it will come with the standard insulating cover for the model.

However, whilst hot tub covers help to protect your hot tub, helping prevent dirt and debris from entering the water and clogging filters, they don’t provide all the ‘cover’ you need. To enjoy your hot tub in privacy, away from the prying eyes of neighbours, and under cover from the elements, we recommend choosing a cover that pairs as shelter, or a hot tub gazebo.

When you think of a hot tub, one of the first words that comes to mind is ‘relaxation’, however, when it isn’t properly sheltered and neighbours can peep in on you with ease, it’s hard to create a truly relaxing environment. Luckily, there are a range of hot tub shelter options available to create privacy and shelter you from any sudden weather changes. From a classic hot tub gazebo, to an all-in-one hot tub cover and shelter, or even a luxury pergola, the choice is yours.

Covana Hot Tub Covers

Covana hot tub covers not only provide shelter, they also function as a hot tub cover to keep heat in and prevent evaporation when the hot tub is not in use. The cover also effectively seals the hot tub in order to prevent dirt, debris, insects or small animals finding their way into the water. As a result, Covana hot tub covers help to save money on water and energy bills, and hot tub chemicals.

When the hot tub is in use, the cover can be automatically lifted to act as an effective shelter. With the simple turn of a key, it can be lifted or lowered with ease – in contrast, traditional manual hot tub covers can be quite heavy and difficult to manoeuvre.

Hot Tub Gazebo

Gazebos have long been one of the most popular ways to create privacy and provide a roof over a hot tub. Wooden gazebos provide a stylish and effective solution for shelter from the elements, as well as nosy neighbours.

If you would love to be able to let some sun in, you may choose a gazebo roof with a transparent centre panel. For the most waterproof solution (which is always a good idea in the British climate), choose a gazebo with a felted roof.

Pergola

Another luxury solution you could choose is a hot tub pergola. For control over shade, shelter and privacy, an electric pergola provides control over the louvre style roof. On a sunny day, leave the cantilevered louvres open for maximum light and breeze. For maximum shelter from the sun or rain, simply close the roof at the touch of a button.

For evening hot tub use all year round, a further benefit of a luxury pergola is the built in LED roof lights. The perfect ambience is always ready!

Other Hot Tub Gazebo or Shelter Considerations

As well as choosing the shelter that best suits your needs and tastes, you’ll also need to consider a range of other important factors.

Size and Space

Before you purchase a cover or shelter, you’ll have to ensure you have enough space for your preferred choice. Firstly, consider the size of your hot tub; any shelter will need to be large enough to provide full coverage of the hot tub. Once you are certain about these dimensions, you’ll also need to think about the available space around the hot tub and whether you will be able to fit your hot tub shelter structure there.

You may wish to choose a gazebo or pergola that is large enough to also provide some shelter for seating or standing room around your hot tub. If you have a large enough garden, you might choose to create a social space around your hot tub.

If you have a smaller garden, a Covana hot tub cover may be an ideal solution. Whilst gazebos and pergolas may look great, if space is limited, you may wish to consider a solution that meets your needs without taking up your whole garden.

Additional privacy

If you are not satisfied with the level of privacy provided by a gazebo or pergola roof, you may wish to also consider adding side panels, drapes, or even a trellis, with climbing plants for a beautiful privacy solution.

You may wish to consider where in your garden your hot tub and shelter are/will be situated. Before you invest in a new shelter, you might also consider relocating your hot tub to an area with more natural privacy as a result of fences or surrounding trees.
