Bridgnorth added their name to the Salop Leisure Knockout Twenty20 trophy after winning the annual tournament hosted by Shrewsbury Cricket Club on Sunday.

Shrewsbury, the holders, were beaten by Whitchurch in the first semi final, whilst Bridgnorth beat Shifnal. In the final, Whitchurch set a target of 123-7, which Bridgnorth reached for the loss of only two wickets off 15 overs.

The victorious Bridgnorth team is pictured receiving the Salop Leisure Knockout Twenty20 trophy from Scott Higgins, Salop Leisure’s marketing manager.

It was the 12th consecutive year that Salop Leisure had sponsored the tournament and Mr Higgins said: “It was a fantastic day’s cricket contested by four superb local teams. Congratulations to Bridgnorth for adding their name to the trophy.”
