The excitement had been building for quite some time in our Shrewsbury household, particularly from my very own little Holly.

My daughters aged six & three had both been to see Peppa Pig at the Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury and although Holly was only 18 months old at the time they were both totally transfixed. Therefore we eagerly awaited the arrival of Ben & Holly as it is from the same makers.

Grandma, only the other day told Holly to look out for the fairies that live in the tops of trees. She was quickly put in her place. “No GaGa Fairies live in castles and Elves live in trees”!

We arrived at the theatre, purchased the necessary drinks and sweets and made our way to our spacious seats without any trouble. Although sat on the edge we could easily see the whole stage.

We had been promised an exciting musical adventure that would be packed full of games, songs and laughter as they took us on an enchanting journey through the Magical Kingdom.

The auditorium filled up with lots and lots of very excited little boys and girls and soon the lights went out and the excitement levels went up even higher!

From the moment the curtains went back the children were thrown into a very interactive show which had them all shouting and singing the whole way through.

There was a short interval after 45 minutes which gave enough time for the compulsory toilet break and ice cream (soon to be tipped all down a certain young ladies dress!). The second half introduced us to many more of the familiar faces from King Thistle to the Wise Old Elf.

The show finished with a good old sing-a-long and was just the right length to keep all the children well and truly entranced. Well done to the team behind this show, I am sure they will be entertaining many many children for a long time to come.
