1  Create a company page

It's easy to create a company page through LinkedIn and it’s a great way to attract potential customers and an opportunity to provide details about your products/services. You can even share regular updates, which could include company news, blogs, offers and industry developments.

Get started – Write a paragraph explaining what the company does and add keywords in the introduction and ‘Specialties’ sections so the right people can find you. Add a professional image, which compliments your website and other marketing material, and continues to deliver brand consistency.

You will also need to add a square logo. If you have a Twitter account, you can use that logo. Complete all other sections including website url.

Once the page is complete, you can add a link from your current position on your personal LinkedIn page. Remain active and post regular updates. You can use LinkedIn’s Company Page Analytics to monitor engagement.

2   Promote your business in your ‘Summary’

You have 2,000 characters (with spaces) to explain who you are, where your experience lies and what your company does. 1,000 to 1,500 is plenty though as you will struggle to keep people’s attention if it’s any longer.  You can add a ‘Specialties’ section here to include some keywords and drive engagement.

3  Add information to job roles

Your current role is another opportunity to explain what you do on a daily basis, who you help and how. Be careful not to repeat details from your summary. You only need to add a paragraph or two here. Add information (including key achievements) for previous roles if it is relevant to your business, as this will instil faith in your abilities and experience.

4  Be Active

Write and publish posts on topics relevant and useful to people in your industry and position yourself as an expert in your field. Join and contribute to relevant groups and share updates on both pages. The more active you are, the quicker you will expand your network and reach potential customers.
