The Annual Vintage Show is returning to the Shropshire Showground this June and the event promises to host more than ever before for families as well as vehicle enthusiasts.

The show, organised by the Mid Shropshire Vintage Club, is a two-day extravaganza on June 6 and 7 at the West Mid/Greenhous Showground showcasing some of the best vintage vehicles the country has to offer.

Exhibitors from all over the UK bring their vehicles, including every type of classic car, motorbikes, Land Rovers, military vehicles, steam engines, tractors and more. There are also shire horses, craft and trade stands, fairground rides, food, a beer tent and bar and much more.

New! Tractor Pulling!

Each year, a special tractor is featured and in 2015 this will be the David Brown tractor. For the first time the exciting spectator sport ‘Tractor Pulling’ will be at the show.

The event will see a tractor pulling a progressively weighted sledge over the distance and hopefully cross the finish line!

Mr Hairy the life like talking doll will be entertaining the crowds and playing the piano and Mike Salt from Wem will be bringing his steam-engine ‘Pepperpot’.

One of the aims of the event is to raise funds for local medical charities and since its formation it has raised more than £150,000 for charities including the Severn Hospice and Hope House.

Annual machinery auction

Every year the event also stages an auction of vintage machinery and tools by H J Pugh & Sons and this will take place on Saturday, June 6 at 11am.

Vintage Show chairman, Richard Haynes, said: “The show is one of the most renowned events of its type in the country and has always attracted ‘vintage vehicle’ enthusiasts. But we wanted it to appeal to everyone and to be a family friendly event so we have included a lot more on the bill to appeal to all.
