We had to use a broker given values of certain items not insurable by comparison site insurers. Simon Smith a manager with Howden used his experience and skill to obtain cover and that indeed less expensive that quotes elsewhere. A very professional and customer focused gentleman. We would have no hesitation in recommending Simon and his company and have asked him to have Howden contact us at the appropriate time for our travel and motor insurance renewal. Thankfully seems the age of personal service in insurance world is with Howden and Simon Smith still alive!

The underwriters for our previous home insurance, for reasons known only to themselves and which they did not - and do not have to - disclose, had notified us that they would not be renewing our home insurance this year. However, in the meantime our boundary wall had been damaged by a council tree in the pavement and, as a result, potential insurance companies were refusing to cover us for subsidence or refusing us insurance altogether. I was in despair when I found Howden Insurance via a Google search - my contact with them was Louise Payne. I tried two other insurance brokers, one a personal recommendation, but neither were able to help with a company to cover our house for subsidence. Louise was a star! She kept working away and eventually found a company who agreed to cover our house, including for subsidence. Hats off to Louise! She was not only very nice, but patient, exceptionally well informed and professional, good at her job, altogether brilliant. I am incredibly thankful to Louise and Howden for all they have done to help us. And I can continue liaising with her and Howden should I have any sort of problem, which is a huge bonus. I shall be recommending Howden to all and sundry in future!!

Maria was very helpful and we got my insurance renewed without any hassle. Howden's had been emailing me reminders that it was due to expire, but I had not got round to renewing. Maria called on the day my insurance was due to expire, and took me through the renewal options and prices. It was easy and painless, and exactly the reason I moved (a year ago) from a direct service insurer to a broker. Personal service from a real person!
