When I had a problem with water backing up into my toilet and plumber had advised that this was a drain problem, not a plumbing problem, a drain engineer arrived within just a few hours and cleared the drain.

I've just had the pleasure of conversation with Howden Sales specialist Ben lever to renew my motor insurance and as expected when dealing with the company Ben represented Howdens to the highest of levels. Ben listened to me and put together after detailed conversation exactly what I asked for at a fair price.

I wouldn't say great!, but the staff member explained why our insurance had gone up so much, although we were surprised that he did not mention our knock on February 20th 2023, just before our renewal in 2023. He also asked whether we had been aware of recent press regarding motor insurance! Surely nobody could not know! He mentioned age!! but didn't explain why if we took an 84 year old driver off the policy, the premium didn't change.
Surely, less risk on the policy, should be cheaper? Third party, fire and theft, less risk, Surely should be cheaper?!! We would maybe have preferred a more simple explanation. Did our policy go up so much because of the knock??

This was my first experience of dealing with an insurance broker; Alex, at the Staines office, talked me through the options and explained everything clearly. The price was competitive and documentation clear. The proof of the pudding may well be in managing any subsequent claims, but initial experience bodes well.
