When I got my renewal for Home insurance from my usual provider it had gone up quite a bit nd having just renewed my car insurance through Howden at Thatcham branch I asked if they could quote me on a home insurance policy. I was transferred and gave all my details and was surprised that only one insurer was quoting as were the staff at Howdens but by going through various options they were able to reduce the quote by over £600 on their initial quote and by over a £100 on my renewal price. Everything was checked and explained and by changing how I arranged cover and using excess cover the job was done. I’m very happy to recommend Howdens and particularly the Thatcham branch as they now insure my home as well as two cars.

My previous details were rapidly available and reviewed. There was an issue with the actual type of my new car but a member of staff, with a wide knowledge of cars, quickly sorted out the problem. The offer I received was acceptable and retained until I was able to complete the purchase.

Kindly supported me in obtaining cover for my husbands vehicle following his passing. I am unsure if there is a discount for 2nd policy but that would be helpful. Still quite expensive given that I only wanted short term cover. Have to ask, is using a broker is becoming too expensive, when you look at comparison web site. There are pros and cons, I know that. Still appreciated their support and kindness.
