I cancelled my car insurance with A-plan. Yep, they got me annoyed. - we argued and agreed to disagree. Then I went to Swinton who gave me a much better quote, which I accepted.
Then I had problems, not big ones but ones that keep you tied on the phone, the email, the chat...for most of the day....actually more than one day...and more than one call.
So, lost my cool with Swinton - centralised call centre meant I was being served by South of England and then North of England. Miss-information & confusion. Did I really sign up for this?
6 days later and after more calls and online chats....phone up Whitehouse and ask for the Manager - Steve, who takes the call and we smoothly reach an agreement - understanding. He's a person, with experience, you can talk to - even yell at if necessary!
Upshot - cancel bureaucratic waffle..waffle Swintons and return to Whitehouse - given a good rate as well. See, the important thing is not so much the money (that IS important!) but the service. Be wise - use Whitehouse...they're humans.
They don't get 5 stars for P*****g me off in the 1st place though.

Have used A plan for many years now and the staff come over very knowledgable and friendly. In the end opened a good policy that was keenly priced. However, it’s a shame that you have to barter to get the best price.
