I contacted A-Plan after I had discovered a shocking negligence by my now-former provider (it had "lost" my personal details, failed to resolve the matter despite multiple, repetitive, long, phone calls... and had even told me that it wouldn't be able to process a claim had I needed to submit one). As A-Plan have an office in my home town, I figured that giving my custom to A-Plan would be a very wise move. My phone call to A-Plan for a quote was answered quickly by a very friendly, polite, knowledgeable, professional (and sympathetic) representative. She called me back promptly with an excellent quote which I accepted readily. It's all about good *service* and exemplary customer *care* (as well as price), which I identified here. Plus the confidence that I can always call a local number (or visit an office in my home town) if I need any further assistance. A no-brainer to contact A-Plan first when my other renewals are due...
