Nicole in the Solihull office was very patient and coped with me on a poor line and with poor hearing. She didn't tire or press me or sound either fed up or as if she had been on the 'patronising course'. She checked over peculiarities of my job and vehicle and tried different options regarding cover. I was so pleased with how smoothly she sorted it, I am phoning her back tomorrow to organise cover for our other two vehicles. She also got a price for cover which is on a par with my existing insurer but gives me a greater annual mileage limit. I hope I don't have to make a claim, but if I do, I at least know there is a real office, with a real member of staff, who will help.

I had tried wading through Go Compare which remembered my husband's details when I had tried to get him a quote in the past but wouldn't amend them in relation to my email address. I had tried compare the market and lost patience as it thought my vehicle had two doors not four and wouldn't change whatever I did. I had tried Mustard which came up with a super quote from the Post Office but when I corrected an error to say my vehicle did have a factory fitted immobiliser, rather than reduce the quote it increased it by ÂŁ40. My existing insurers phoned me about renewing but I got the distinct impression I was dealing with a lady in a foreign call centre, not least because she addressed me as "Mrs. Emma" . . For insurance I think it is important to have someone who is at least in the same country so when you need help they can sensibly give it.

I've been with A-Plan for a couple of years now and in that time had to claim for a car accident and now a marine incident. On both occasions I have found anyone I deal with to be friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I now have my home, vehicle, boat and motorcycle insurance with A-Plan and wouldn't consider using anyone else. A REAL PERSON answers the phone when you call them! We wouldn’t go anywhere else, A-plan BANBURY staff are wonderful, they are friendly, polite and very helpful they will always look for the best deals for you, they will contact you when you policies are coming up for renewal. If you should be unfortunate to need to make a claim it takes just one phone call to them and they sort all the rest quickly and efficiently
