Those booking early will be able to order one of the 12 traditional Christmas puddings, made to an old recipe, to be served with cognac, or Armagnac and flamed at the table, for the whole table - and 12 highly indulgent, traditional chocolate Yule logs using Valrhona chocolate. Like all food served at The Dysart, it is made on the premises.

There will be delicious food and drink, professional, attentive service, a festive ambiance of leaded windows, flagstone floors, log fires, candlelight, and twinkling fairy lights in the trees outside. And with a great selection of menus, starting from just £22.50 for three courses, a tasting menu for £60, and full a la carte or special group menus for larger gatherings from £35.95, there is something to suit all types of event and budget.

The upstairs room, with spectacular views of Richmond Park, is always a popular venue for corporate entertainment, the more intimate office party or personal entertaining. According to owner manager Barny Taylor, it is also becoming very popular for family gatherings; "Many local families are booking our upstairs private room for larger family occasions as it avoids disruption at home and everything is done for you." He says. "We also find that the alcove area on the ground floor is popular; seating up to 14, it is part of the restaurant but also offers a degree of seclusion".

For the New Year reveller who places appropriate importance on food, The Dysart Petersham has a special six course tasting menu plus canapés and petits fours. The menu is a veritable ‘around the world feast' with indulgent ingredients including quail's eggs, Irish sea urchin, black truffle, Dorset crab, champagne, Challons duck, kai lan (Japanese kale) Réunion island pineapple and tourtière Gasconne, served with Tahitian vanilla ice cream.

As with all menus at The Dysart Petersham, an interesting and equally tasty vegetarian option is available.

Full details are on the website thedysartpetersham.co.uk and bookings are being taken now.
