Merge together the talents of a portrait artist, musician and interior designer and what do you get? Stunning room design by Tim Burden of Liller Interior in Richmond!
“I studied painting at art school before training as an interior designer. I also love to make music” Says Tim. “Each has disciplines that help you to understand light, structure and form. I’ve always had an inherent eye for design, and to turn a vague idea into a beautiful reality is what makes my job amazing.”
If you are currently thinking of redesigning a room, then Tim gives a few tips:
Create a focal point
Choose something that you love; a particular fabric, an era or piece of art. It could be a window, fireplace or piece of furniture. It’s then working everything else around this.
Make a mood board
Inspiration will evolve as you piece together different ideas. Trying to do this yourself you can end up with mishmash! I take you through a logical process that helps define your taste with concepts such as contemporary v classic and old v new, so I can show you how things can work together, to suit you and your home.
Bringing ideas to life
The best part! Trying to source products yourself can take a lot of time. I can do this for you making the whole project more fun and enjoyable. There is only one word I like to hear when a job is complete – and that’s ‘Wow’!
