An evening of head scratching, curry, wine, and Lawrence Dallaglio was more than enough to raise a smile and £10k at the Mayor’s Charity Sport quiz.

Hosted by the former England Captain rugby ace, Lawrence Dallaglio, more than 200 people packed into The Athletic Ground, in Kew Road, for the sports themed quiz earlier this month.

A total of 20 teams pitted their wits against one another and enjoyed an auction which included Six Nations tickets. The money raised will go to the Mayor’s two local charities, Home-Start Richmond and The Avenue Club in Kew. This is on top of the staggering 22k raised at the Mayor’s Charity ball this month.

Mayor of Richmond, Cllr Meena Bond, said:

“It was a fantastic evening which everyone really enjoyed and it was hosted by Lawrence Dallaglio who was an absolute sport! It’s wonderful to be able to raise this level of funding for my chosen charities and I would like to thank everyone who came along to support the event.”
