Since arriving on a bank holiday weekend 2 night stay the staff were faultless and very helpful. My opinion of the hotel was surprisingly clean i was expecting something to fail, but i was very happy with the facilities and especially the breakfast! the staff was so kind 1 polite young lady offered to play with baby whilst we had breakfast so we can eat in peace. The car park was very busy on the weekend we arrived but soon cleared up the following day. So to summarise i would happily stay here again

Booked on line for £44.50 a night, which is almost half of the direct price! Nice clean room with excellent cleanliness , great location next to bars, eating places and night clubs, free carpark, but not many spaces compared to amount of rooms , overall I would stay again but only for the on line price!

Quite a basic hotel but clean and ok for a short stay. Bit of an issue with the bathroom, had a shower but the water didn't flow away and the bath was still full of water the next morning! But other than that everything was ok, it's central to Preston and only a short walk to the town centre. Breakfast ok.

I stayed here with my husband for two nights... Hotel has a very cozy/ friendly environment.
Staff are very helpful and our room was big enough, clean and comfortable.
Location wise just perfect, walking distance from town centre.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn on the night of 02.04. All the staff I met were lovely and so helpful, especially the duty manager..sorry I cannot remember his name. I had a slight problem with my room which he did his utmost to remedy. Had dinner in the restuarant and the food was good, served piping hot. In the morning breakfast staff were so friendly and went out off there way to make sure all customers were happy.I will be in the area again and will stay at the hotel. I would also recommend to others. Thank you all for making my stay as comfortable as possible.

I use this hotel a lot whilst on business and the staff are always very nice and it's always a comfortable stay.

One minor thing that could be improved is the quality of the poached eggs that are cooked on demand in the morning - they are always rock hard and not very appetizing.

Other than that I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Preston.

After what seemed like a terrible weekend, our initial hotel in Ormskirk had fallen through, me and my boyfriend thought we'd road trip and see where we end up. We had travelled only 55 mins from blackpool and ended up at Preston, ring road. We parked up in the car park, albeit small, we still go a space. We walked in the hotel lobby it was clean and smelt fresh. Upstairs we found the reception after asking how much for a room £60 Inc breakfast, or just £50 without. We thought this was great. We booked in and was given a key card for our room on the 5th floor. We got to our room and the view over Preston was brilliant. My boyfriend and I stood there for about ten mins watching the world go by. My boyfriend who is a tad ocd, checked everywhere for dirt or any type of uncleanness - nothing! Yeah the bathroom is small but it was enough for one night. All the staff were so nice and helpful given us tips on which restaurants are better than others and giving us directions. I can happily say this is the best budget hotel I have stayed in! The facilities in the room were good. There was tea and coffee making facilities and extra shampoo and conditioner if you'd forgotten! The TV was freeview but you couldn't actually see what channel you was on you had to guess. The bed was sooo comfy, the pillows were made to your liking!!

If you enjoy simple pleasures then this hotel is perfect for you. Enjoy and I hope this helps. :-)

This hotel is a regular stopover for me! The average score is supposed to reflect the straightforward "you know what your getting nature" of the hotel!
The staff are all polite and efficient!
The small gym has 3cardio machines and a couple of weight machines, just enough to keep the cobwebs at bay! The rooms are nice, the odd blip, a dodgy window shutter or broken lamp, but never anything major and ALWAYS clean in my experience!
I like the buffet breakfast it has everything you could want. (Although the mushrooms could do with a bit of a better scrub)
Dinner is always good, it doesn't taste like the microwave fodder you can get elsewhere!
The carpark is tiny! Go straight into the bus station car park (up the ramp, then first right up another short ramp and there are a load of holiday inn spaces there. you'll have to pay reception £4 for a 24hour exemption card when you check in; then walk back across to the car park to put it in your car)
A good place for a nights sleep!

The bedrooms are clean but are starting to look a little tired and dated.
The corridors are generally the same.
The restaurant is a little on the expensive side but there are lots of alternatives within walking distance.
Car park is very small for size of hotel.

We stopped over at this hotel as part of a journey up to Scotland.
We arrived late at midnight and were greeted by friendly hotel staff, slept well and then were off again the next day.
The hotel was really easy to find from the motorway.

The hotel was in a great location - perfect walking distance to the town centre and for visiting our daughter at the Uni. The room itself was spacious and comfortable with a fridge included too! We stayed two nights and an all you can eat breakfast was included - this was delicious and fresh, with a good selection of both hot and continental items. I would definitely recommend and will be using again, next time we visit.

I had to stay here on business after an 8 hour delayed train journey! I arrived at 0030 and was greeted by friendly faces and offered room service etc.
The breakfast was buffet style with lots of different choices.
The staff were very very friendly and the room was more than comfortable - unfortunately it was not the stay I hoped but I would definately return.
Small overcrowded car park - but I was in a taxi ....

Stayed for one night on business. I arrived at the hotel and the car park was full, they have an overflow car park locally. When I was checking out people had got parking tickets, I later found out that if you park in the overflow car park you have to get a special ticket from reception.

Check in was fast once they found my booking.

Room was clean and tidy.

Ordered room service was very quick and food was very good.

Overall a good stay.

Needed an overnight in Preston to appear in Court. This one was right across the road from the Crown Court and turned out to be good value. Although right on the road, it was very quiet and got a good night's sleep. Room well appointed and reasonably large. Good shower. Reasonable dinner ( fish and chips) but a bit expensive for what it was. Staff helpful and friendly. Overall a good choice.

Great breakfast ten out of ten. I really enjoyed that in the morning I left. lovely clean rooms, lovely staff. Would recommend again. Only concern was its slighty out of the centre had to hop onto taxis to get about. Otherwise great place.

I stayed here at the start of February for the one night. A friendly welcome was offered on arrival and I was checked in quickly.

The room as others have said was a little on the small side, however I was only there the one night and it wasn't too much of an issue as it was clean and well maintained with no visible housekeeping problems.

Clean bedding and towels were available and the bed itself was very comfortable, I had a good nights sleep with no disturbances which is always impressive for a Saturday evening in a town centre location.

I ordered room service which was delivered promptly and was of good quality. There is a very good choice of dishes on the menu with something to suit all tastes. Breakfast in the morning was very nice. It is a buffet, however the was a very good choice of dishes available which was replenished regularly in small batches.

Checking out in the morning was quick and hassle free whilst I was thanked as I left.

One thing I noticed which is strange with this hotel is that there is only standard rooms available, normally Holiday Inns have a choice of at least two (Standard and Executive etc).

Overall a good stay and I would be happy to return in the future.

I stayed there during the month of May-June 2013 for 4 days. Rooms are too small. Location is very good just near the Tithebern bus stop. The entrance is a bit confusing. But overall it is good one. Cleanliness is up to a very good degree. Breakfast was nice.

Its a Holiday inn, you know what you're getting when you stay here.

I could be extra picky. Ideally, Id like more in the free tea/coffee tray rather than enough for one cup. The bathroom could've been a bit bigger but as a place to crash, its ideal. £50 was definitely worth the money.

The parking isn't great though. That needs to be looked at.

Stayed here on 29th Jan and was adequately happy with my stay. Parking seems to be restricted to only a few right outside the hotel, otherwise it's a trek across the road into the multi-storey. I'm not sure if you have to pay here but you certainly need a permit to park there so arrive early for a spot outside the hotel.

The guy that greeted me advised me to park on the double yellow lines in the car park, when I went to change parking spaces from the multi-storey there was an empty parking space, so thanks to the receptionist for the tip.

Room was pleasant enough and done the job. Breakfast was good along with some happy helpful staff which always makes a massive difference.

Being a regular business person up North and being a Gold Ambassador member of IHG; I have no other choice but to stay in the Holiday Inn Preston. You cannot even upgrade as they do not have any other type of rooms available. The exterior leaves little to the imagination and the interior of the hotel provides the same feeling. It does provide a comfortable stay but it is located in a terrible location next to the main bus station and little choice for food around.

Realised that we regularly stay on business and use conference facilities and have not written review. Yes, it's not a pretty exterior and is not in a great location but beds are comfortable and breakfast and lunch are very good! Staff are helpful and friendly and I've never been in such clean toilets! So, well done to staff who make a miserable building come to life and provide what is expected!

The room was average, but clean enough. The breakfast was disappointing.
I did ask for the IHG Loyalty card and after filling in all the forms, still not heard anything 6 weeks later?
Guess they don't want my business any more, but I would not want to stay here again anyway!

Comfortable enough, not much about a Holiday Inn Express in my opinion.

Good shutters to keep out the light. Bed and pillows ok, interesting view out over industrial preston. Not much parking out the front, and difficult to find the entrance as it's located on a big road junction.

Not much to look at this well located Holiday Inn offers a snug overnight refuge to break your journeys. Comfortable rooms on the fringe of the town centre so plenty of choice of food and drink. Great breakfast choice too.
