An overnight stay as before, the facilities are very good, parking is restricted to a first come gets the space basis. staff are pleasant and I will certainly stay again. There is a good choice of breakfast items.

I was very impressed with my stay - bed was comfortable with a choice of soft or firm pillows, all the usual facilities were provided such as flat screen tv, tea and coffee, nice towels, iron etc. There was also a bath and a good shower which was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately there weren't plug sockets by the bed which was annoying but not a major issue.

Although my room had a view of the main road I wasn't disturbed by noise during the night. My family had a room overlooking the bus station and were woken up by the current roadworks at around 6am but i was told it wasn't too loud so they got back to sleep fairly easily. Breakfast was also nice - just the usual continental with a full English buffet. The location was also good - 5 minutes walk into the city centre.

My only complaint would be the size of the car park. There are only about 20 spaces but as the hotel was busy people abandoned their cars in the middle of the car park as well. We had to park in the bus station opposite - not too expensive, just inconvenient that we had to drag our cases a bit further. Do not try and park in the NCP car park that they suggest - it's not opposite the hotel and a bit of a walk if you've got heavy cases. Better off just parking in the bus station.

Overall a great stay, just a shame about the parking.

I stayed one night at the Holiday Inn in Preston while on business and found few faults with this hotel. The room itself was excellent, with large comfortable bed, flat-screen TV' wi-fi, tea and coffee making facilities, iron, hairdryer, and trouser press. While my room was overlooking the main road (the other view being the bus station) there was little noise during the night.

Breakfast in the morning was the usual continental offering with fruit juice, tea and coffee, cereal, pastries, cold meats, fruit, porridge, and the hot buffet of full English. The hotel was in a great location, just a few minutes' walk from the centre of Preston and right next to the bus station, although there was no pavement access to the hotel and you took your life in your hands getting to the front door of the hotel. The small car park did also seem to be struggling with the volume of cars, but this was not a problem for me during my stay.

When I'm next in Preston I'd be perfectly happy staying at the Holiday Inn again and would certainly recommend it to anyone.

As with most big hotels, there was a little noise from other guests, but the service was good and the rooms nice and clean. There was an ample sized bedroom with a big window and the bathroom also had a good size (including bath!).
The breakfast is a standard boring mass produced buffet, but the beds are comfy and everything else is pretty good.

Stayed here while attending my daughter's graduation and it was perfect for my needs.
I found the check-in process quick and efficient which I appreciate after travelling. The staff were all pleasant and helpful, rooms clean and tidy and a good breakfast available to set you up for the day, what more do you need?
The only minor negatives are limited parking on site, there are public parking spaces available for £6 per 24hrs so it's not a major problem.
The other issue was the noise from the road if the window is open, it's not too bad though if the window is closed.
Would use this hotel again next time I visit Preston.

We had a lovely evening meal, which was cooked well and was hot . So welcome after a long day travelling . Breakfast was self service , with a lot of choice , prepared by very helpful friendly staff .

Stayed here a few years ago and I must admit that it was great value for money. The bed was comfy and big and the tv was a good size. Not too big not too small. Great for chilling out and watching a bit of tv at the end of a long day.

Good holiday inn. Staff where helpful with my delayed arrival. Hotel room was small and bed the mattress wasn't the newest or most comfortable but I slept well and it was clean. Hotel overall is a bit tired but helpful staff, good variety for breakfast. I'd stay again

This place is well presented and the staff well trained. The rooms are immaculate and so comfortable. The showers are awesome, so clean and powerful! The bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows...awesome!
The only thing, make the breakfasts BIGGER!

This is a difficult review to write because it's not for the lack of trying that makes the hotel experience feel like a 1980s time machine.

Staff: the staff are great and can't do enough to help. The reception staff were great and ordering room service was a pleasant experience. The food service staff even left a note with dinner saying 'hope you have a great stay" etc. Now the cynic in me knows that this is a ploy to get higher tips (read any psychology text book for more) but even though I knew why, it was still a nice touch and deserves a mention.

Room: I was on the sixth floor which is supposedly reserved for IHG card holders and the corridors were all painted in a "business grey". The room itself however was in all honesty way below par for 2017 - it was very small, there was no plug by the bed (which in this day and age is crazy - EVERYONE has their phone in bed and use it for alarms etc), the TV was still analogue and had hardly any channels - for you kids out there analogue TV was pre digital and there was only a few channels that had crappy signal. The room was clean and tidy, but was still in the old 'Corby Trouser Press' era. So incredibly dated. The room was so small there wasn't any space to really put the suitcase even.

Location: centre of town so good location and was close to where I was working

Food: absolutely fine and as you'd expect from a standard hotel like this

Overall: honestly the hotel needs refurbishing because it's simply not up to the expected standards these days. With AirBnB the same nightly cost would allow you to stay somewhere twice as good - and that's the issue. The staff honestly try their best but IHG are doing them a disservice by not allowing them to give their guests the best experience by virtue of the hotel itself. Travelodge and Premier Inn are far more modern, bright and with larger rooms and because of that this hotel fails.

Stayed here recently for 4 nights for business. The car park is tiny and was full throughout my stay so I had to park in the multi story opposite, which wasn't an issue. The snooker was on at the guild hall so it was nice having breakfast with all the players around! Food was good, staff were helpful! One of the lifts wasn't working, but gave me an excuse to use the stairs for a change! Overall it's ideally located so I would stay again.

Lovely clean room. Excellent service from reception. Overnight free parking. Quiet considering the hotel was full. Comfy bed; reasonably priced. Would stay again. Bar area very clean. Only complaint reception on first floor can be slightly confusing once you come in. Oh and the lift didn't work from ground to first.

I stayed here for 3 days/2 nights recently as I was conducting some business in one of the meeting rooms here. From the time I arrived, until the time I checked out they couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.

The reception is on the 1st floor, and the staff were efficient and friendly. My room was on the 6th floor and was clean and comfortable as one would expect. The meeting rooms are on the ground floor and again were well stocked and clean. Unfortunately I didn't get to experience the restaurant as I am on a special diet and so can't eat normal foods but it looked inviting and I was sad to miss out of the experience.

Overall a very pleasant hotel, with wonderful staff. I'd be happy to visit again for pleasure or for business and would recommend this venue for both.

If I had to pick a downside it's that there are only 33 car parking spaces. I was lucky to get one (the last space) as I had a lot of equipment to unload but I'm not sure how I'd have coped if there hadn't been any space there as it would have been impossible for me to cart my equipment to and fro from the public car park.

stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, each one individually booked as the trip lasted longer than expected.
Check-in was quick and easy.
Room was spotlessly clean and equipped to the expected standard.
The food in the restaurant was very good, the cuisine was British with an Asian twist.
Breakfast was excellent, although a buffet, it was kept hot and freshly cooked food was continuously being brought out.
The only downside was the lack of parking.

Spending most of my time bouncing between hotels, once you are familiar with the facilities each particular brand contains, gym, restaurant standard, etc for me the only thing that can make one hotel stand out above the others is the staff. The staff in this hotel rate it in my opinion one of the best Holiday Inns to stay. I always like to take time out to pay compliment to hotel when the staff as a whole stand out. I would like to say a special thanks to Rick, Kirsty and Nichole who collectively took the time and effort to make my stay enjoyable by not only their attention to detail in remembering my preferences, but, also making the effort to socialise whenever they were not rushed off their feet. They could not do enough to help.

This particular Holiday Inn is based in the city centre right beside the not aesthetically pleasing bus station. I can only imagine that the city centre restaurants and bars make it difficult to keep the bar and restaurant appealing.

Could do with an update as rooms look tired. Dinner in the restaurant - a limited menu. New staff, who really needs training up before she is allowed to deal with the customers. Didn't know what she was doing and it seemed like she couldn't be bothered with us. She shouted a cross the dinning room to ask what we wanted for sweet.! When she arrived at the table, I asked what sorbets they had to be told she don't know, same answer with the ice cream. I had to ask her to go and find out what flavours were available.
Then when they arrived said the ice cream was the sorbet.
All the other staff in the restaurant were friendly and very pleasant as were the staff at reception desk.

A standard holiday inn in many ways but screaming for an update, It is clean and tidy and minutes aways from Preston town centre. Everything in the room worked as it should, the only down side in the room was the use of bulk toiletries which I don't really like. On a big plus the reception staff are excellent nothing it to much. Breakfast was good selection and well stocked at all times. One issue that the hotel is aware of is there is only one lift in operation, not a problem for me but for those who need it at busy time you could wait a while.

Stayed here for a couple of months on and off, the room are standard for holiday inn, clean and comfy. TV channels need sorting as many just noise. Wifi is good. The lift to get to the rooms needs to be fixed it's been broken for ages, there are 2 lifts but can take a while on busy times. Reception are friendly and professional. Staff at breakfast sometimes struggle on busy times and try different methods to deal with checking us in, showing us our table then getting us a hot drink. Maybe best to stick to one method. One of the bar men is excellent, remembers your name and is never flustered, too good for this place. Some staff mean well but struggle with English. The food is a bit bland, fancy words but the chef clearly has no real passion for food.
Glad I don't have a car as car park is not big enough.
Close to town centre, 15min walk to station.

Stayed here as part of a coach party who went to the Grand National. Dinner was @ 9pm as soon as we had arrived but was not exactly exceptional but adequate. Staff did work hard to get everyone seated and fed. Room on 5th floor and only one lift working did mean delays. Room was clean, beds comfortable and everything provided. Breakfast was very good all that anyone would want. A good centre of city hotel.

I think this is the best hotel actually in Preston. You can walk to town and the station from here. Parking is not great though. Very small. And weirdly the reception is on the first floor. Only one lift working when i visited. But this isn't the norm. Service is very good. Food OK. I always go out for dinner when at the hotel. But it's not bad. Rooms clean and the gym is again small but at least there is something.

I stayed here a couple of night during a business trip. Short walk to restaurants, pubs, shopping, City Centre, buses and trains. I was driving so my main concern was parking. There is a very small parking lot. Disrespectful visitors parked a few inches behind my car and blocked me from leaving early on my departure day. I believe the hotel should enforce rules about allowing guests to park illegally. Fortunately, there is also paid parking at the bus station across the street. Beds were not high quality but rooms were adequate for a business hotel. Internet was fast and free. Hotel was being renovated and there was ongoing painting to refresh the look of the walls. There were lots of great places to eat in the area. I had no opportunity to eat at the hotel. The pleasant and informative staff made my visit very enjoyable. I finished my business early and found time for sightseeing. Everyone I met gave me great advice for restaurants and tourist attractions.

A really nice clean and comfortable hotel complimented by some very good staff. I took a party of 48 and the feedback was very positive with good food, comfortable rooms and overall a very pleasant stay. Staff are always key to success and everyone was very helpful during our stay.

The hotel is in a good location just half a mile from the train station and on the outskirts of the city centre. The hotel is very clean and smells nice, staff are friendly and helpful. I was on the 4th floor and my room was nice and clean. Ok value for money at £65 for a double room doesn't include breakfast though. The restaurant and bar area are nice the food is lovely but majorly overpriced it cost me 12 pound for chicken strips, chips and a orange juice It was very fresh and nice though. Overall decent budget hotel
