Position is strategic next to the bus station. Rooms are ok, quiet but bed is not comfy. Breakfast is quite good.

Really excellent, friendly staff. But the facilities are very tired and desperately need a upgrade. Very little car parking. Intercom broken (for weeks!), so even getting in late evenings is an annoyance.

We have stayed here many times over the years. For sad occasions and happy occasions. The rooms are nice and clean. Staff very helpful. And a great choice for breakfast. Maureen Gerry Midlands 🇮🇪

Lovely hotel situated right in the town centre. Free parking. Lovely clean room, very pleasant & helpful staff. Delicious breakfasts & enjoyed one tasty evening meal. Very convivial atmosphere. Visiting family in Preston & will definitely rebook this hotel

Had a one night stay with a coach party and had mixed feelings regarding the Hotel. The first thing that you notice is that the lifts cannot accept many occupants which meant people having to get out the lift when a red light flashed for being overcrowded. This created much amusement but annoyance as well. Meal times were disappointing regarding food quality and presentation (I really didn't want a piece of cellopane in my cereal !!) The main reason for complaint was that our room overlooked the main road and we could see flashing lights through the gap in the curtain (which had come unglued from its side connection.) We found the staff to be friendly and efficient.

Stayed one night, dinner b&b with a coach party. The dinner was very mediocre. Menu had only 3 choices. I chose fish with a tomato sauce, new potatoes and “fresh green beans”. The fish was tasteless , the sauce was very acid and the beans were definitely not fresh but frozen and the potatoes hardly warm, the self service breakfast was good. The room was very clean but extremely noisy.
The windows and net curtains in the dining room were filthy.
I would not stay there again.

Overnight stay on a coach holiday weekend, never left the hotel so can't comment on the location. The hotel room was one of the best I've stayed in, very clean and comfortable. The food on offer at dinner was a set menu but quality very good and breakfast excellent choice. All staff very polite and helpful.

Stayed here for 2 nights recently whilst attending a family event. Check-in was quick and Maria was friendly, very professional and gave me a warm welcome whilst also acknowledging my membership. My room was a good size, with a comfortable bed and the layout was good too. Instructions on how to operate the AC was very good and helpful for guests. The bathroom was very clean, with a powerful shower and clean towels too. Breakfast was very good - Lots of variety and tasty so set you up for the day. The location of the hotel - 10 minutes to the city centre and 15 minutes walk to the train station - fantastic and next door to the bus station so very accessible. I would stay here again on my next visit to Preston - Highly Recommended!

I have since had a call from a really helpful colleague, Kay Meek, who has resolved the matter below. She addressed the misunderstanding arounf the use of a 3rd party website and issued a full refund. I can't thank her enough for help and professionalism in this matter.
Referring to Response from Holiday Inn Preston below. My booking was not made through booking.com. It was made on the IHG site as are all my Diamond Elite bookings. As stated, I did try to contact the hotel directly out of hours the day before the booking, but no one was was there to authorise a waive of the tariff. I was promised it would be addressed. It wasn't. My father has since died, in case you doubted the veracity of my original reason for cancellation.
Had a booking with this hotel and had to cancel the day before arrival as my father had taken ill. I did call c. 5 hrs after the 4pm refund cut off, but given the circumstances and the fact that I am Diamond Elite. IHG customer I hope the hotel would show some grace and not charge for the booking. Alas not. This is the first hotel I have encountered in similar circumstances, who have chosen not to apply some generosity of spirit, but instead chosen to bank what they can. I understand they are running a business, but businesses also run on goodwill and good faith. I know ours does.

Hotel that shows its age but is clean and welcoming. Standard room with all the comforts. Central location and kind staff. Good for a one-night stopover on the way to Scotland.

I have probably stayed at this hotel over 100 nights over the past 4 years.
The one thing that has always stood out is the exceptional and tentative staff. They will always go out of their way to help you in anyway they can. Nothing is ever too much bother.
The breakfast is nothing short of amazing and is one of my favourites amongst all hotels I’ve ever stayed in.
The bar staff are just brilliant especially after a hard days work, they more than often always ask how I am and are genuinely caring and considerate. I would like call out Kamila who is one of the hotel’s absolute superstars.
Thank you for the amazing service.

The staff and service was amazing! Our team was very pleased by the catering provided for our event and the attention and thoroughness of all the staff members we encountered. However, some of the rooms' air conditioning units simply did not work properly, which affected the sleep quality of some of our team. When we mentioned it to the staff, they did what they could, but it seems new A/C units could be beneficial.

This hotel was a cute little find on our way to Greta on the green area. We arrived Manchester early and wanted a place to stay in between and this town and hotel ended up working out. They have a nice bar and breakfast area. Lots of food choices - and good service. The rooms are modern enough with good air con - this was a hot time for the UK so it was perfect. The most standout person at this property was Laura. She is the front desk manager and her skills show thru well. She was very attentive and professional even when dealing with another customer who was trying to talk to her while she was working to check me in. She handled it well. This location is a short walk from the high streets with shops and services as one would expect. Overall we had a nice stay in Preston - a cute little town. Would come back to this area again in the future.
Note that parking is limited - suggest parking early and walking around the area.
