Whilst waiting to take on the Foxton Locks, we met fellow narrow boat cruisers. who recommended the Black Horse for good food and value for money.
On arriving, we received a warm welcome congratulating us on arriving 3 minutes before Happy Hour finished at 6pm!The conservatory, where we ate, was overlooking the garden and open views beyond, very relaxing.
Wednesday and Thursday nights are burger and pie night. We all chose pies which were first class and only £8!Desserts were good sized portions and again, value for money.
We would certainly visit this pub again!Rachael

We were on a narrowboat and stopped here for an evening meal. Friendly welcoming staff. Good food and a lovely pub just a short walk from the canal. Also dog friendly

Menu was limited for a bank holiday . Food was good but over priced for a burger and chips £15.95 . Booked the table for 6.30 , didn't mention that it shut at 8pm. Then when they took orders for second round if drinks at 7.50 they mentioned they close at 8pm. So itvwould be pretty difficult to drink a bottle of wine in 10 minutes. Very disappointed, closing time should have bern told when booking and also that itvwasnt a full menu.

Used to be my local but not been in for sometime, didn't go in pub, went in cafe, very pleasant. Will worth a visit for a rest as area very good for walking and locks are nearby.

Absolutely loved our experience here...just got back and had to do a review right away. The atmosphere is so nice, relaxed and welcoming, every staff member we encountered was polite and so friendly. The food was perfect, the chips were gorgeous. And brownie with custard to finish, what more could I want. Plenty of parking, seating both inside and out. Might have to go back Thursday. Wish we were local. People of Foxton you are very lucky.

I love the garden here. On a sunny day, with a gin in hand looking out over the countryside. Bliss. Friendly staff too!

Booked in for Sunday lunch, we were told we couldn’t get a table til 3.30pm which we agreed to. We looked at the menu and finally got to order……only to be told no roasts left. So we ordered something else. Service was a bit slow and disjointed and my food was not great, chips were under done. Hubby’s pie was good and starters nice. We then witnessed the owner being very rude to another customer…… not good.
