Unfortunately this was only open for 2 days of stay and it was table service, but if you were in the garden you got forgotten, then place closed due to covid

What a wonderful surprise to be greeted by a friendly and welcoming landlady …. and choosing a table by a glowing real fire!
Perfect on a wet and windy December day ! The food we chose was excellent…. well presented, very tasty and filling 😀

We hired a narrowboat from Market Harborough and moored for the night at Foxton road swing bridge. A short walk and we arrived at the Black Horse and what a find. Welcoming locals, great selection of beers and absolutely fantastic food. However, what makes this pub are the fantastic staff. Helpful, friendly, they could not do enough for us.
So good we ate there twice and even stopped for a quick drink on our way back on the last day. We shall definitely return.

Fantastic experience! I'm a horse rider and the staff were so amazingly helpful.
Got to spend my Sunday lunch sitting in the beer garden with my horse, a drink and a tasty bowl of homemade chips ☺️

Lovely dog friendly bar and restaurant! Well worth a visit. Beer garden with great views and clay tables. Stones throw from Foxton Locks, accessible from the canal walk.

Annual meal out for 15 of us and felt like normal service had resumed , were well looked after, the food and beer very good and really had a great night, all served promptly and nothing too much trouble , thoroughly recommend. Thanks Claire and team

What a gem of a place! Food was fantastic, I had sea bass which was fresh and delicious, husband had the burger which was the best, the staff are very friendly, great value for money, will be returning soon!

First time to visit today, lovely pub with excellent staff. A very varied menu with excellent food.Will definitely visit again and recommend to our friends.
