Stunning location. The main Monument is an amazing centrepiece to Honour our Dead, with all the other unique Memorials placed around the site in their own beautiful, and peaceful settings. We booked a ride around the location on the motorised train which shows you around the site with a recorded Message explaining each of the areas you travel through . Or you can just wander off to explore on foot. Nice Restaurant/Cafe and Gift Shop. They have a Chapel to sit and Remember and plenty of benches around the site to sit and rest on while you pay your respects. Dogs are allowed in the grounds. Car Parking is £4 for the day. Free Entrance into Building and Grounds and instead they have Donation Boxes. Can't praise this location enough. Stunning. Well worth a visit.

Booked a private tour with a guide (Mick Byrne) to take my parents around the site as neither are good on their legs. They couldn’t speak highly enough of their experience and still do, 3 months later. We had emotion with remembering close family lost in WW2, laughter with Mick’s stories and feeling very humbled understanding how many young men sacrificed everything so we can live free today. I can’t recommend a visit highly enough and if you can, a private tour with lunch is well worth the money, you learn so much more than you would from walking around the site on your own.

Lovely place to visit, just lacking a little bit of direction as the map wasn't very user friendly. Lovely cafe and outdoor seating areas. Good spots for contemplation too.

I had read reviews saying that this place was not as dog friendly as it could be, but they were written some time ago and when we arrived we were able to use the main entrance, which others had said you could not. The first indication that dogs were. It welcome everywhere was in the entrance where a dog walk map was thrust at us. Looking at that it seemed that we could go all round the arboretum so we thought access had improved. Unfortunately, as we were looking at the South Korean memorial (important to us as my father in law had been involved in the conflict - thankfully he survived) we were approached by somebody who told me dogs could not go on the grass. This meant that many of the memorials were not accessible. We were later talking to a volunteer who said that his boss was very pro dog and had no problem with dogs in the areas he controlled. I would prefer if there were either a dog friendly policy which actually meant dogs were welcome or dogs were not allowed at all.
