Lots of local groups, charities, businesses, organisations decorate a Christmas tree and they are displayed in this beautiful cathedral.
50+ trees this year.
We always do a little pilgrimage to Lichfield Cathedral to seethe trees and pay £1 to vote for our winner.
The Cathedral also does an amazing light show with lights projected inside and outside of this amazing building.
We didn’t go to see the lights this year as we thought it was a ticketed event and we forgot to get tickets. Must remember to do it next year.
Amazing building at any time of the year but particularly magical at Christmas.

I went to the The Luxmuralis Cathedral Illumination tonight. I went last year. While the interior last year was good this year was truly magnificent. It was wonderful to see how it engaged the children.
For me it was truly peaceful. The music and the projections brought the cathedral to life. I think if you spent all day there you would still find something new.
So much hard work must have gone into tonight and the other nights. Thank you to all the people that made it possible.

We came to enjoy the light show and were not disappointed. Fabulous display first on the Chapter House then on the cathedral. So much fun in the first show all the Christmas images that we all enjoy. Then the beautiful Nativity story on the cathedral. The amount of visitors for each performance was perfect, not at all crowded. Then going inside the cathedral it was spectacular. Beautiful lights like a kaleidoscope, just stunning, plus a Christmas tree festival. It put us right in the Christmas mood.

Exceptional. I went for the special lighting event that was on, and I found it fantastic! First time seeing the Cathedral, I can't wait to see it in its glory in daytime!
