Fabulous sense of history. Well worth a visit. Great if you catch organ or choir practice. No entry fee (House of God) but contributions towards upkeep. Lovely care opposite.

The architecture is simply stunning. The craftsmanship of the statues and fittings is like something from a whole other world in today's computer driven society.

Set on the edge of the medieval central grid of streets, still containing late medieval/Tudor buildings, this is a fine structure with its unusual three spires. The elaborate west front deserves lengthy inspection, with its statues of kings of England from Saxon times. Inside there is an impressive high-vaulted roof and attractive stained glass windows. There also interesting exhibitions of items such as copies of examples of Saxon jewellery from the Staffordshire hoard.

Another of England great cathedrals (though small in the class) particular impressive is statues that cover the front however the inside is also pretty good to look out for Johnson. Oh also it's free that's good to

I do like this cathedral as it always has something in the form of exhibitions, so one visit isn't all of it there is always something new and often different parts of the building open which were not on previous visits. The architecture of this cathedral is visual impressive as is most, but its frontage, for me, is exceptional and of great historic interest. One annoying feature on both recent occasions is the irrelevant and irritating music being played. I visit for the peace and a little retreat from the world - on the latter occasion it was destroyed by a blaring and dis-tuneful organist.

A truly special cathedral that offers so much detail, the amount of statues on the cathedral is very impressive. A visit is recommended.

Went on a tour of the tower today - very interesting. I believe that these used to run and stopped due to health and safety and are only running again due to it being a heritage weekend. Every tour that was scheduled was fully booked - fascinating experience with lovely views and photo opportunities - hopefully they will run on a more regular basis!

I have seen the light through the wonderful windows that have been restored and replaced in the Cathedral. On entering we were invited to take a guided trip around the building and I must say what a pleasure it was to hear all the history of it from a well informed Guide and and one who made it a pleasure to hear the history. When we last visited the windows had been removed for cleaning so for us it was a pleasure to see there return and now they are double glazed ? There are many quirks to this building so please go and enjoy

i live local to Lichfield so have visited the cathedral many times, it is a magnificent building, in the summer it looks amazing against the blue skies and within walking distance of both the town and the local Pools ie stowe Pool (not swimming pools :-))
In winter when they have the light display on the Cathedral is beautiful.
last year they had the 10000 angels display inside and a fab Christmas tree decorating competition which was luvly.
we wrote in the prayer book with a message for a dear friend and altogether it was a wonderful touch at Christmas/new year.
well worth a visit :-)

Lichfield is my home and the Cathedral is always a pleasure to visit. It looks good from a distance and the detail as you get closer is amazing the whole place is just a pleasure to visit although it is a little awkward in a wheelchair on your own to get around and to get inside but I can understand the cathedral was built a very long time before wheelchairs used to visit there
